  • Parks
Collin County has four parks, Bratonia Park, Myers Park, Parkhill Prairie and/or Sister Grove Park. Each has its own features from simple wide open spaces to a Model Airplane field.
 

Sister Grove Park
A 75-acre hike/bike trail located between Princeton and Farmersville, adjacent to Lake Lavon.
Farm Museum
The Collin County Farm Museum is an institution dedicated to the promotion of a greater awareness and appreciation of the rich agricultural heritage of the region.
Myers Park & Event Center
The Myers Park & Event Center is dedicated for the educational and recreational use for the youth and citizens of Collin County.
Adventure Camp
The Adventure Camp, located in Westminster, is a place for hands-on study of natural sciences, designed for the students of Collin County.
Parkhill Prairie
A 436-acre preserve located in northeast Collin County, featuring a 52-acre relic of the Blackland tall-grass prairie and magnificent views of the countryside.
Bratonia Park
A park for the radio-controlled airplane enthusiast, located east of Lucas adjacent to Lake Lavon.
Trinity Trail
An equestrian and hiking trail with trailheads located at Brockdale Park and East Fork Park adjacent to Lake Lavon. This multi-purpose trail offers a relaxing way to get close to nature without a long drive. On a weekend day you’ll find scout troops, nature lovers, horse back riders and families out for the day enjoying the trail. No wheeled vehicles or motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail. Hikers, joggers, nature lovers, photographers, and trail riders are encouraged to use the scenic trail.

  • Festivals
Two cities have annual Hot Air Balloon Festivals. Those are always fun. We have some Hot Air Balloon Ride companies in the area as well. You might want to take a ride while you are here. There is also the annual Roundup on the Range at Myers Park.
  • Lakes

Lake Lavon provides fishing, boating, swimming, camping and more. The dominant fish are the large-mouth bass, white bass, blue catfish, and crappie. There are other lakes in the area, but Lake Lavon is the only lake fully within Collin County.
